BIOINFORMATICS POSITION

Genesis Research and Development Corporation Limited is a research-based biotechnology company located in Parnell, Auckland, with innovative research programs in human health and plants. Genesis currently has 75 scientists and support staff.

A position is available for an experienced individual with strong skills in relational database design and implementation on UNIX systems with web interfaces. Candidates should be familiar with DNA and protein databases and have a sound knowledge of molecular biology. Modern computer facilities (Digital Alpha server, several UNIX machines in LAN and PC farm using PVM) are available. A competitive salary package will be based on experience and merit.

MOLECULAR IMMUNOLOGIST / CELL BIOLOGIST

A senior staff position is available for a molecular immunologist or cell biologist to join the Functional Genomics program based on screening microbial and human databases to develop pharma- ceuticals that may be used to treat disorders ranging from inflammatory disease to cancer. Applicants should have a PhD and post-doctoral experience with good molecular and cellular skills for developing bioassays. Salary will be based on experience and merit.

POSTDOCTORAL FELLOSHIP

A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Computational Biology and Bioinformatics Group at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. Project involves study of regulatory elements in promoter DNA sequences and/or RNA enhancer elements in alternatively spliced exons. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in a relevant field and be familiar with PERL/C in UNIX environment. Basic training in sequence analysis and some research experience in computational biology are also required.
